Empowering future of Africa by turning research into safer roads

ARSANet aims at advancing road safety in Africa through shared knowledge, collaborative research, and academic excellence

ABOUT ARSANET

The Africa Road Safety Academic Network (ARSANet) is a collaborative association of African universities and research centres committed to advancing road safety across the continent. ARSANet promotes the exchange of academic knowledge, fosters scientific dialogue, and supports cooperation in understanding road safety challenges and identifying effective, evidence-based solutions. As a continental platform, it connects road safety academic institutions to strengthen research capacity, stimulate the creation of national and regional research networks, and guide policy development.

ARSANet’s mission is to coordinate and promote high-quality research, support the implementation of research results, and evaluate their impact. To achieve this, the Network engages in activities that enhance scientific excellence, define research priorities and agendas for Africa, develop technical recommendations for national and continental authorities, organise seminars and expert meetings, participate in international research initiatives, facilitate researcher mobility, and award scholarships or prizes to support road safety research.
